Warranty Policy
These Warranty Terms apply to all products sold by VE Batteries through www.vebatteries.com.au, direct sales, distributors, and authorised resellers within Australia.
By purchasing and using VE Batteries products, the customer agrees to the following warranty terms and conditions.
1. Warranty Coverage
VE Batteries warrants that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended use and service during the applicable warranty period.
The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Warranty coverage begins from the original invoice or delivery date.
2. Warranty Periods
The warranty period varies depending on the product type and application.
- AGM Batteries 2.5 Years
- Lithium Batteries (LiFePO4) 5 Year
- Chargers, Battery box & Accessories - 12 Months manufacturer warranty unless otherwise specified.
3. Warranty Conditions
Warranty coverage is subject to the following conditions:
- The product must be installed correctly according to manufacturer guidelines.
- The battery must be used within specified voltage, temperature, and charging parameters.
- Suitable charging equipment must be used.
- Batteries must not be over-discharged, overcharged, modified, abused, or physically damaged.
- Proper maintenance procedures must be followed where applicable.
- Proof of purchase must be provided for all warranty claims.
VE Batteries reserves the right to inspect and test any returned product before approving a warranty claim.
4. Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Incorrect installation
- Improper charging or maintenance
- Neglect, misuse, abuse, or accidental damage
- Water ingress or fire damage
- Physical damage including cracked cases or terminals
- Corrosion caused by environmental conditions
- Damage caused by faulty electrical systems
- Deep discharge below recommended limits
- Use in applications not recommended by VE Batteries
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic damage
- Damage caused during transportation by third parties
- Products altered, repaired, or modified without written approval
- Batteries left in a discharged state
- Parallel or series installations with mismatched batteries
5. Battery Testing & Assessment
All warranty claims require testing and inspection.
Customers may be required to:
- Return the battery for testing
- Provide installation photos
- Provide charger specifications
- Provide charging logs or system details
- Complete a warranty claim form
If testing confirms the battery is functioning correctly or the issue falls outside warranty coverage, assessment and freight charges may apply.
6. Warranty Remedies
If a valid warranty claim is approved, VE Batteries may, at its discretion:
- Repair the product First
- Replace the product with the same or equivalent model if repair is not possible
Replacement products do not extend the original warranty period unless required by law.
7. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Customers are entitled to:
- A replacement or refund for a major failure if their not fault.
- Repair or replacement if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights under Australian Consumer Law.
8. Freight & Return Costs
Unless otherwise agreed:
- Customers are responsible for return freight costs for warranty assessment.
- VE Batteries will cover freight costs for approved warranty replacements within Australia.
- Remote area freight surcharges may apply.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VE Batteries is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Loss of income or profits
- Downtime or business interruption
- Vehicle recovery costs
- Installation or removal costs
- Damage to connected equipment
- Loss caused by incorrect battery selection
Total liability is limited to the original purchase price of the product.
10. Warranty Claim Process
To submit a warranty claim:
- Contact VE Batteries customer support.
- Provide proof of purchase.
- Provide product details and issue description.
- Follow testing or return instructions provided.
- Allow reasonable time for assessment.
Warranty claims may be rejected if products are returned without authorisation.
