Can I directly replace my AGM battery with a VoltEdge lithium battery?

While VoltEdge lithium batteries offer superior performance, replacing an AGM battery requires ensuring compatibility with your existing charging equipment. Lithium batteries have different charging requirements compared to AGM batteries. Before making the switch:Verify that your DC-DC charger, solar charge controller, and 240V charger support lithium battery charging profiles.Consult the manuals of your existing equipment to confirm compatibility.Proper charging is crucial to maintain battery health and safety.

How can I restart a VoltEdge lithium battery that's been fully discharged?

There are two primary methods to revive a fully discharged VoltEdge lithium battery:

Method 1: Using a 240V Charger with ‘Power Supply’ ModeSet your lithium-compatible 240V charger to ‘power supply’ mode.Connect the charger to your battery.Allow the battery to charge until it reaches an adequate voltage level.

Method 2: Using Jumper Leads and a Secondary BatteryRequirements:A 12V battery with similar voltage and capacity.Jumper leads with positive and negative clamps.A vehicle or power source equipped with a DC-DC charger.

Steps:Place both batteries close together, ensuring terminals do not touch.Connect the positive terminals of both batteries using the jumper leads.Connect the negative terminals similarly.Start the vehicle or power source to initiate charging.Once charging begins, disconnect the jumper leads, starting with the negative clamp.If the battery doesn’t respond, please contact VoltEdge Batteries for further assistance.

What size DC-DC charger is recommended for my VoltEdge battery?

All DC-DC chargers offered by VoltEdge Batteries are compatible with our lithium batteries. The choice of charger size depends on your specific battery capacity and desired charging speed:Smaller Batteries: A 25A charger may suffice.Larger Batteries: Consider a 40A charger for more efficient charging.Ensure that the charger you select aligns with your battery’s specifications for optimal performance.

What 12v Charge Voltage/Profile is required?

If your Charger has a LifeP04 setting available, we recommended selecting this. If it does not the recommended settings will be:Charge 14.2v – 14.6vFloat/Absorption 13.4v – 13.6vDisconnect 10.5vIf your charger has a LIFP04 Setting available, please select this option.
